He is survived by: his children, Amy Hurst Evans (Steve) of Gibsonville and David Earl Hurst (Kaitlyn) of Stokesdale; his brother Sammy Hurst (Wanda) of Eden; his grandchildren, Lindsey Peoples (Caleb), Ethan Hurst, Hannah Hurst, Abigail Hurst, Atlee Hurst and Aubree Dillon; and his former wife Susan Koontz Hurst.
