He is survived by: his wife Neva Brown Saunders; his children, Bruce Saunders (Wanda), Beth LeSueur (Marshall), Karen Grubbs (Kenny) and April Martin (Tanya); his grandchildren, Dr. John LeSueur (Liz), Paul LeSueur (Hannah), Brad Martin (Cortney), Victoria Grubbs (Jorge), Benjamin Cole Grubbs, Tyler Coleman and Carson Coleman; his great grandchildren, Kara Martin and Lennon Martin; his stepgrandchildren, Sean Smith, Renee Vernon and Tracey White; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Samuel Smith, Jacob Smith, Cody Lovelace, Krysta Proctor, Cameron Wilson and Dalyn Proctor; and his sister Mamie Hairfield.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Fair Funeral Home (432 Boone Rd, Eden, NC 27288). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
