He was predeceased by: his parents, Wiley King and Minnie King (Boyd); and his sister Novella Justice. He is survived by: his wife Kathy King; his children, Peggy Neblung (Mark) of Clinton, IA, Vickie Wise (Gary) of Arden, NC, Joseph King (Kimberly) of Dewy Rose, GA, Matthew King of Hendersonville, NC and Mark King (Azucena) of Minot, ND; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Nathan, Benjamin, Tracie, Connie, Wendy, Toni, Randy, Katie, Daniel, Samantha, Tiffany and Wiley; his brother Fred King (Sue) of Austin, TX; and his friends, Maggie, Loretta and Wayne. He is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren.
