We are sad to announce that on June 5, 2023, at the age of 91, Gertha Sneed Shipman of East Flat Rock, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Sneed and Leauna Sneed; her husband Rev. James E. Shipman, Sr.; and her siblings, Bud, Herbert Sneed and Winnie Lee Nunez (Sneed).
She is survived by: her children, Wanda S. Mintz (Danny), Jimmy Shipman and Brenda S. Messer (Greg Messer); her grandchildren, Christie Nelon (Jeremy) and Nicholas Mintz (Chrissy); her children, Jeremy Jones, Timothy Shipman, Leah Mintz Kovacs (Denes), Zachary Jones (Jessica) and Caleb Wright; and her siblings, Hillard Sneed, James Sneed, Maurice Sneed and Carie Parker. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
