She was predeceased by: her parents, Neal Gray Spillman and Minnie Gough Spillman; her husband Hassel Carroll Brown, Sr.; her siblings, Bertha Spillman, Frances Smith (Howard), Kathleen Spillman, Dorothy Cash (Joe), Laura Binkley (Bud), Dayton Spillman (Mae), Thomas Spillman (Stella) and John Spillman (Martha); her siblings-in-law, Linda, Wade Scott and Dayton Brown; and her nieces and nephews, Jimmy Spillman (Bet), David Spillman, Helen White (Sach), Susan Wright (Russell) and Jeanna Brown.
She is survived by: her children, Hassel C. Brown, Jr. (Tammy), Steven Neal Brown (Kelly) and Melinda Hawks (Jerry); her grandchildren, Ashley Lubel (Jake) of Wiltton, CT., Courtney Rowland (David) of Winston-Salem, NC, Hassel Carroll "Trey" Brown, III of East Bend, Cody Brown of Boonville, Emily Warren (Taylor) of Kings Mountain and Bethany Duvall (Caleb) of Hampstead, NC; her great grandchildren, Lena, Jack, Worth Lubel, Gatlin, Griffith Warren, Sterling Rowland and Ryker Brown; and her sister-in-law Sandra Brown. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
