He is survived by: his wife Mylinda Kay Childress; his daughters, Sherry Childress (Eric Nickel) of Winston Salem and Jerri Myers Sigmon (David); his grandchildren, Dalyn of Newton and Ashley Childress Caffey (Matt) of Winston Salem; and his sisters, Judy Hodges (Billy Jo) of Winston Salem and Kathy Hodges (Ernest) of Winston Salem.
