It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Bernice Witherspoon of Earl, North Carolina, who passed away on February 18, 2021, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Haas and Gertrude Sullivan Haas; and her husband Earl Witherspoon. She is survived by: her children, Lynn Austin (Clark) of Lenoir, Patsy Harrison (Melvin) of Lenoir and Jerry Witherspoon (Betty) of Granite Falls; and her half-brother Cecil Haas of New Mexico. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren.
