He was predeceased by: his parents, Edna Hobbs Guthrie and William Ross Spencer; his stepfather Arthur "Buddy" Guthrie; his siblings-in-law, Wayne Lowe and Linda Lowe; and his nephew Jim Lowe.
He is survived by: his wife Fayedean Lowe Spencer of Durham, NC; his daughter Amy Jacobs (Everette) of Stem, NC; his brother-in-law James Lowe (Carol); and his nieces, Melissa Lowery (Tim), Deborah Hempel and Jamie Lowe (Chance Crowder).
Visitation was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Lowes Grove Baptist Church (4358 S Alston Ave, Durham, NC 27713). A graveside service was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Lowes Grove Baptist Church Cemetery's. Alston (4358 S Alston Ave, Durham, NC 27713).
