He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Owen Beasley, Sr. and Beatrice Puckett Beasley; his sisters, Christine Thaxton, Elizabeth Faulkner and Carol Roberts; and his stepson Stephen Upchurch.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia McHaney Beasley; his daughter Tammy Ballard; his stepdaughter Donna Upchurch (Joe Davidson); and his sisters, Celia Kierzewski and Florence Sondys. He is also survived by Papa Sam's five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
