It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ronald David Pearson Sr. (Durham, North Carolina), who passed away on January 4, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Albert Pearson and Rebecca Arrel Cates Pearson; and his siblings, Clarence "Pat" Pearson, Frances Pearson Tyson, Dorothy Pearson Tew, Marvin Lee Pearson and Sarah Pearson Freeland.
He is survived by: his close friend Edith Ottaway; his son Ronald David Pearson, Jr. (Rebecca); his grandchildren, Lucius "Luke" Cole Pearson (Kim) and Jessica Pearson Hebert (Michael); his great grandchildren, Blake Hudson (Courtney), Riley Hudson and William Hebert; his great great grandchildren, Logan and Banks Smith; his nieces and nephews, Susan Pearson Hamlett, June Tyson MacFarland, Raymond "Butch" Pearson (Viv), Garland Freeland and Eddie Tew; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Michael Hamlett, Glenn McFarland, Kyle McFarland (Kim), Patrick Pearson (Susanne), Erika Hamlett, Erin Ramsey (Kipp), Stephani Nesbitt (Nathan) and Jennifer Stern (Eric). He is also survived by nieces and nephews, along with many special friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the Edgewood Baptist Church (1807 Infinity Rd, Durham, NC 27712). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to The Granville County Senior Center, 107 Lanier Street Oxford, North Carolina 27565.
