He was predeceased by: his parents, Beryl Howell (Buck) and Ollie Sloan Brown; and his brothers, Beryl and Billy Brown. He is survived by: his wife Jackie S. Brown; his children, Richard "Rick" N. Brown II of Durham, Lisa D. Brown of Durham and Sherri Brown Perry (William) of Wilton, N. C.; his grandchildren, Lucas Childress (Leah), Jaysen Perry (Jazmine) and Dalton Brown (Alexis); and his pets, Ginger and Presley.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Hudson Funeral Home and Cremation Services (211 S Miami Blvd, Durham, NC 27703).
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in memory of Richard to Karen Beasley Sea Turtle and Rehab Center, 302 Tortuga Lane, Surf City, NC 28445.
