He is survived by: his wife Sue Garrett Canoy; his sons, Jefferson "Jeff" Canoy (Danielle) and Adam Canoy (Summer); his grandchildren, Lucas Holbrook, Zann Canoy, Dax Canoy, Amelia Canoy and Atticus Canoy; his sister-in-law Sylvia Canoy; his nephew Brian Canoy; and his niece Michelle Bryant.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Westminster Presbyterian Church (3639 Old Chapel Hill Rd, Durham, NC 27707).
