He was predeceased by: his parents, Ormond Woods and Marion Porterfield Woods of Hurdle Mills; his wife Fannie Massengill Woods of Clayton; the mother of his children Joy Antionette Woods of Hillsborough; his son Jonathan Preston Woods of Hillsborough; and his brother George Edward Woods of Hurdle Mills.
He is survived by: his daughter Cheryl Renee Woods of Durham; his sisters, Carolyn Stratford of Ft. Lauderdale, Kathy Blalock of Havelock and Linda Terrell of Hillsborough; his sisters-in-law, Giovannia Creech of Durham and Wanda Brantley of Wilson; his stepsons, Randy and Robert Massengill; and his cousins, Carl, Mike Perkins, Betty Compton (Dwight) and John Toler. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 10th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the McLaurin Funeral Home (12830 US 70 Business Hwy W, Clayton, NC 27520). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, November 10th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of the Funeral Home.
