He was predeceased by: his parents, Lizzie Covington McKay and Lawrence Gregory McKay; his wife Sandra Pendegraph McKay; and his siblings, Frances Bragg, Russell McKay, Fred McKay, Bettie Louise McKay, Lester McKay, Bud McKay and Martha Helen McKay.
He is survived by: his children, Melissa Redd (Michael), Bridgette Hayes (Bryan) and Kelly McKay; his sisters, Patsy Hannah, Carolyn Gholston and Barbara Ann Sears; his grandchildren, Brianna McKay, Sandra McKay, Michael Redd Jr., Chandler King and Mason Redd; and his great grandchild Nolan Shurgot (Irene Rudd).
