He is survived by: his wife Yvette Theresa Brackeen; his daughters, Cristina Theresa Ross (Jaxson) and Chaniece Theresa Brackeen (Terry Chen); his mother Jo Anne Marie Brackeen; his sisters, Susan Brackeen and Roselle Brackeen; his nephew Johnathon Thomas Brackeen; and his niece Jennifer Brackeen Leonard.
He will be remembered not only for these contributions to science, but also for his love of nature and hands-on pursuits.
