He was predeceased by: his parents, Thirupurasundari and Lakshminarasimhan. He is survived by: his wife Jaya; his children, Geeta (Ram Kumar) and Ravi; his grandchildren, Mira and Rohan Kumar; and his siblings, Padhu, Balu and Hema.
