He was predeceased by: his parents, James William Nowell "Bud" and Thelma Nowell; his wife Barbara Nowell; his sister Delores Nowell Wilson; and his grandson Nicholas Massey.
He is survived by: his daughters, Lesley Day (Andrew) and Wendy Massey (Gary); his grandchildren, Jake Day, Griffin Day, Caleb Massey and Samantha Grinstead; and his great grandchildren, Abigail Lockamy and Rakel Lockamy.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church (4511 Old NC 10, Durham, NC 27705). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mt. Hermon Baptist Church and the Diabetes Family Connection.
