With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Eugene Victor Maafo (Durham, North Carolina), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Eugene Victor left this world on February 9, 2025 at the age of 97, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Amakye Donkor Maafo and Ellen Comfort Ampofoa Kwofa; and his son Micheal Maafo (Lydia Opoku) of Ghana. He is survived by: his children, Selena Ampofoa Maafo Samuels of Jacksonville, Eunice Mable Amina Maafo of Ghana and Eugene Victor Sam Maafo of Ghana; his niece Justina Asare (Kwabena) of Durham; his close friends, Eddie Davis, Warren Peacock, Charles Tuck, Dr. Rickey Baskett of Durham, Reverend Joe Brown of Hamlet, NC, Reverend Larry Purvis of Atlanta, GA, Kelvin, Vera and Sadie Allen of Durham; and also, Leon and Willie Murphy. He is also survived by nephews, nieces, grandkids, and other family members.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Peace Missionary Baptist Church (2608 NC-55, Durham, NC 27713).
