He was predeceased by: his parents, Elzy Vernon McBroom and Matie Susan Nash McBroom; and his wife Betty McBroom. He is survived by: his children, Susan McBroom (Bill) of Durham, NC and Joel Scott McBroom (Nina) of Jacksonville, NC; and his grandchildren, James McBroom, Gabrielle McBroom, Stuart McBroom and Hugh McBroom.
