He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Carl Howard and Pauline Upchurch Howard; his brother J. S. Howard; and his great-nephew Zachary Wayne McGhee. He is survived by: his sister-in-law Ann Howard; his nephew Stephen Howard (Laura Ann); his niece Kimberly Naughton; his great-nieces, Rachel Howard, Emma Howard and Taylor Hines (Eli); his great-nephew Jake Howard; and also Jacob Bruce Hines.
