He is survived by: his wife Nancy Edwards; his children, Leah Lenore Porta (Edward) and Douglas Robert Edwards Jr. (Ayla); his grandchildren, Jacob Edwards, Jacob Porta, Emily Stanley, Elyssa Edwards, Madisson Edwards, Samson Porta, Evan Edwards, Henry Porta and Olivia Edwards; his great grandchildren, Zachary Stanley, Emerson Porta and Grayson Stanley; and his siblings, Larry (Carol Edwards), Gerald (Judy Edwards) and Sally (late Michael Rodgers).
