We are sad to announce that on November 23, 2023, at the age of 88, Don Duane Cook Sr. (Durham, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Gillis Kenion and Henrietta Erexson Cook. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Clark Cook; his children, Robin Gunn (Lee) and Donald Duane Cook Jr.; and his grandchildren, Katelyn Johnson, Austin Cook and Cameron Cook.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Duke Hospice: 4321 Med.

“My name is Jack L Leiws. I grew up on 919 2nd St in Durham, next door to Donald's family. I also remember Elmo and their little dog, Brownie. I was saddened to hear of Donald's passing. He was a special person in my life, because he taught me how to play guitar when I was about 10 years old back in the early 50's. I have been fortunate enough to continue playing up to this day. I now reside in a retirement community in Cary and my number is 252-229-6415 if you would like to speak with me.”
