She was predeceased by: her parents, John Wesley Holder, Sr. and Lillie Fletcher Holder; her husband Cecil Delano Eakes; her sons, Barry Dale Eakes and Cecil Wayne Eakes; her granddaughter Janice Renae Eakes; her great grandchild Kristan Lewis; and her siblings, Arthur Holder, William Broncho Holder, Rex Holder, Charles Holder, Robert Holder, Lee Holder, Hallie Appelt, Lenora Tuck and Virgie Johnson.
She is survived by: her daughters, Tonya Eakes DeLargy (John) of Durham and Crystal Eakes Jones (Davey) of Creedmoor; her siblings, Don Holder (Patricia) of Oxford, Frank Holder of Stem, John Wesley Holder, Jr. of Florida and Maxine Thomas of Graham, NC; her grandchildren, James Wayne Eakes, Allison DeLargy Lancaster (Greyson) of Columbia, NC, Brianna DeLargy McCurdy (Drake) of Raleigh, Autumn Jones and Savannah Jones of Creedmoor; her great grandchildren, Emily Eakes, Adam Eakes, Marcus McDuffie, Robert, James Shelton, Aemon McCurdy and Elizabeth Abigail Eakes; and her great great grandchildren, Ariyahnna, Juliana, Kal-El, AvaLee, Rose and Niko Eakes. She is also survived by many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Flowers are acceptable or donations can be made to Type One Diabetes Research through organizations such as JDRF (Junior Diabetes Research Foundation), Beyond Type 1, and the American Diabetes Association, as her granddaughter, Savannah, has Type One!
