In the sacred silence of farewell, Carol McFarland is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Carol McFarland's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Caleb McFarland and Margaret Morris McFarland; her husband Troy Richard Utley; and her sister Joan McFarland. She is survived by: her daughter Teresa Chancellor (Jeff); and her granddaughter Taylor Spoon. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She retired from Duke after 40 years, where she worked in Neurology researching Alzheimer's.
