She was predeceased by: her parents, John Currie and Hilda Currie; her husband Walter "Harvey" Hamlett; and her brothers, Robert D. Currie, Carlos Lee Currie and Von Currie.
She is survived by: her children, Linda H. Lay (Randall), Cheryl H. Raymer (Michael), Darlene H. Tillman (Steve), Rebecca J. Hamlett and Randall J. Hamlett (Charlene W.); her siblings, Durwood Currie and Virginia C. Harris; and her grandchildren, Adam Raymer, Jarred Raymer, Audra Smith (Nathaniel), Kristen Lay, Lauren Lay, Matthew Tillman, Jordan Tillman, Melissa Hamlett, Joshua Hamlett and Caleb Gregory (Tess). She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren and numerous other loving family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 21st 2024 from 10:15 AM to 10:45 AM at the Hudson Funeral Home and Cremation Services (211 S Miami Blvd, Durham, NC 27703). A funeral service was held on Monday, October 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
