She was predeceased by: her husband Duke Professor Emeritus David H.; and her brother Dr. George Zeleney. She is survived by: her daughters, N. H. and Halifax; her sister Darlene "Didi" Zeleney; her daughters, Daria Margaret Sanford and Kate Sanford Spingarn; her children-in-law, Nils Mellquist and Evan Spingarn; her grandchildren, William Mellquist, Marlow Mellquist and Nora Spingarn; her sister-in-law Nina Zeleney; and her cousins, Andrew and Joanna Popadiuk. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
