She is survived by: her children, Arvelis Byrd and Ali Byrd (Carolyn); her siblings, Robert Young, Walter Hodges (Kimberly), Jerry Hodges, Mark Hodge, Tommie Cynthia Hodge-Sykes, Sharon Hodge, Katherine Theresa Hodge-White, Ardella Demyers and Roderick "Rick" Hodge; and her caregiver Tressa Herring. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren; 1 great grandson, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Steven L Lyons Funeral Home (1515 New Bern Ave, Raleigh, NC 27610). Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Watts Chapel Missionary Baptist Church (3703 Tryon Rd, Raleigh, NC 27606). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at the Brier Creek Memorial Gardens (7600 ACC Blvd, Raleigh, NC 27617).
