He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Barnes and Opal Barnes of Dunn, NC.; and his wife Joyce Byrd Barnes. He is survived by: his children, Stephanie Barnes Brandon (Dwayne) and William Frederick Barnes II (Carolyn); his grandchildren, Elizabeth London, Wil Barnes and Jenna Janssen (Freddy); and his great grandchild Lukas Janssen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Skinner & Smith Funeral Home (905 Erwin Rd, Dunn, NC 28334). A graveside service was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Greenwood Cemetery (908 S McKay Ave, Dunn, NC 28334).
