She was predeceased by: her parents, James Crawford Goode and Pearl Lockamy Goode; her former husband Garland H.; her husband Donald Ray Suggs, Sr.; her son James Kenneth Godwin, Sr.; and her grandson Corey Michael Godwin.

She is survived by: her sons, N. C. and Sonny Ray Godwin, Sr.; her daughter-in-law Darlene Godwin Allen; her siblings, Billy Goode of Fairmont, NC and Judy Perkins; and her grandchildren, James K. "Jay" Godwin, Jr., Alex Godwin, Sonny Ray Godwin, Jr., Christopher Scott Godwin, Joshua Suggs, Logan Suggs and Stormy Suggs.
