She was predeceased by: her parents, Willard H. Spivey and Mary Ann Umphlett Spivey; her husband John Fletcher "Pop" Spivey, Sr.; her brother W. Edgar Spivey; and her nephews, Mike and Bart Perry.
She is survived by: her children, John F. Spivey, Jr. (Susan) of Raleigh and Cindy Spivey Smith (Chris) of Dunn; her grandchildren, Charlie Smith of Pittsboro, Allie Smith of Florence, SC, Joe Rittiner of Durham and Mike Rittiner of Raleigh; her sister Barbara S. Perry (T. E.); her sister-in-law Linda D. Spivey; her nieces, Kaye Spivey and Tanya Perry Maieski (Rick); her niece-in-law Missy Perry; and her nephew Brian E. Spivey of Hobbsville.
