She was predeceased by: her husband O. S. "Mac" McDuffie; her siblings, Katherine Pate, Doris Jernigan, Annie Horne and Erwin Stewart Byrd; and her son-in-law Mike Stanley.

She is survived by: her children, Brenda McDuffie Tucker (John) of Fayetteville, Nick McDuffie (Jeanne) of Ellicott City, MD and Joan McDuffie Stanley Harmon (Bennie) of Coats; her grandchildren, Jason McDuffie (Elizabeth) of Frederick, MD, Beth Cole (Andy) of Coats, Justin McDuffie of Ellicott City, MD and Meredith Tucker Lee (Jeff) of Fayetteville; her stepgrandchildren, Brian Harmon (Christy) of Biscoe, Keith Harmon of Sanford and Kelly Mann (Steve) of Clayton; her great grandchildren, Michael, Katie and Madelyn Cole of Coats; and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Ben Harmon, Drew Harmon, Taylor Jordan and Cooper Mann. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of the First Presbyterian Church of Dunn 901 N. Park Ave. Dunn, N.C. 28334.

“We will miss Aunt Margie so much. She was a true gem of a lady. She was hospitable and invited us over to visit even when we were on the road later than we thought. Aunt Margie would bring out a full dinner at 8pm including dessert. We will treasure the peach cobbler recipe she shared in her handwriting. She made a point of including us in everything her family did because she cared for her brother even after his death. She is now with her Savior and Uncle Mac. Love Lenny Byrd and family”
