He was predeceased by: his parents, Clio Louvert and Easter Ioda Barefoot; his son Johnny Mark Barefoot; his great grandchild Chase Mark Barefoot; and his sisters, Ella Mae Logan, Piddie Hoover James and Shae Albritton Darden.
He is survived by: his wife Mary R. Barefoot; his children, Joan Daniels (Roy) of Elizabeth City, Jeanne Kitchin (Aubrey) of Duck, Alan Barefoot (Teresa) of Dunn and Tim Barefoot (Tiffany) of Dunn; his grandchildren, Roy Daniels (Morgan), Kane Daniels, Aaron Barefoot, Ross Barefoot (Brittany), Megan Stewart (Alan), Aubrey Kitchin (Jillian Fearing), Samuel Kitchin, Charlie Kitchin, Kaytlin Strickland (Naylor), Mariah Best (Thelton), Ethan Barefoot (Briana), Tori Dupree (Will), Tala Hayes (Austin) and Timi Barefoot; and his pet Buddy. He is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
