He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Overby; his siblings, Richard, James, Patrick and Joan; and his great grandchildren, Zoey and Olivia McDonald.
He is survived by: his children, Joe Darling of Erwin, NC, Tim Darling (Dawn) of Bloomsburg, PA, Ben Darling (Jaime) of Melbourne, Australia and Becky Lindsay of Erwin, NC.; his siblings, Michael Walker (Ginger) of Lapeer, MI, Thomas Walker of Brown City, MI, Judy McKenzie (Dennis) of Port Hueneme, CA and Charlotte Edgley of Columbiaville, MI.; and his grandchildren, Amy McDonald (Jeffery), Joey Darling, Jennifer Yaw (Tyler), Jimmy Sommerville (Jade), Jesse Richards, Demi Ricks (D'Aandre) and Nathan Lindsay.
