She was predeceased by: her father Ellie Hugh; her husband E. J. Whaley; her son Wallace Whaley; her siblings, Charles, Wayne Godwin, Doris Turner and Bonnie Woodard; her grandson Christopher Lee; and her great grandchild Gage T. Lee.
She is survived by: her daughters, Rose Lee of Dunn and Ellen Lee (Eddie) of Dunn; her grandchildren, Kim W. Wojciechowski, Cale Lee, Kevin Lee, Rodney Lee and Gaye Lee; her great grandchildren, Leah, Abby Nicholas, Jacob Wojciechowski, McCalyn, Christian Lee, Savannah Lee, Vivian and Jake Lee; and her nieces, Donnie and Barbara Turner.
