It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Capps Coats (Dunn, North Carolina), who passed away on February 7, 2023, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Rufus Capps and Gladys Mae Faircloth Capps; her former husband Johnny Telpher Stancil; and her brothers, Jerry Thomas Capps and Donald Roy Capps.

She is survived by: her husband Timothy Coats; her children, Johnny Mac Stancil of Snead's Ferry, NC and Linda Denise Hayes; her stepdaughter Danielle Coats of Louisiana; and her brothers, Billy Ray Capps of Virginia, Elgie Lee Capps of Virginia, Jessie Alvin Capps of Virginia and William Earl Capps of Virginia.
