She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Fletcher and Willie Thelma Sutherland Byrd; her husband Colonel A. Johnson; her siblings, Carroll Byrd, Larry Byrd and Maddie Pearle Thomas; and her great grandchild Bridget Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Donald Johnson of Dunn, Michael Johnson (Pam) of Mrytle Beach, S. C. and Patricia Moore of Dunn; her grandchildren, Victoria Edwards, John Michael Johnson, Lindsey Moore and Taylor Moore; and her great grandchildren, Karlee Edwards and Olive Grace Johnson. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
