He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Shackelford and Virginia Poythress Shackelford. He is survived by: his wife Carole Grey Shackelford; his stepsons, David Gray Vann (Sally Vann) and Steve Randall Vann (Marianne Vann); and his stepgrandchildren, Hailey Grey Vann, Christina Wilkinson, Saylor Vann and Sunnie Vann Batson.
