She was predeceased by: her parents, Archie P. Slater and Peggy A. Chalk; and her son Phillip Gambill. She is survived by: her husband Richard B. Gambill; her son Kenneth "Billy" Gambill of Dudley; her sister Donna Whitfield (Mickey) of Mt. Olive; her grandchildren, Calvin Burleson, Chayton Burleson, Liam Gambill, Annabelle Gambill and Seth Gambill; her nephews, Josh Whitfield (Allison) and Taylor Whitfield (Brandy); and her cousins, Marie Joyner, Gwen Morris and Vickie Wallace.
