He was predeceased by: his parents, Phillip F. Hampton Sr. and Pauline Hunt Hampton. He is survived by: his wife Pamela Michael Hampton; his children, Phillip F. Hampton III of Goldsboro and Michelle Hampton Vaughn of Goldsboro; his sisters, Barbara Hampton of Durham and Sandra Rigsbee (Bernice) of Durham; and his grandchildren, Cody Phillip Vaughn and Brittany Pamela Vaughn (Chris Breedan).
