She was predeceased by: her parents, John Benjamen and Mabel Minshew Bass. She is survived by: her husband Willie Adkins Jr.; her daughters, Kimberly Yvonne Kennedy of Faro, Tami Rene White (Michael Blizzard), Goldsboro and Traci Lyn Hope (Linwood) of Pikeville; and her siblings, Hugh Bass of Saulston and Shelby Belongie of Patetown. She is also survived by three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
