We bid farewell to Maxine Phillips Parnell (Dudley, North Carolina), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on January 10, 2025 at the age of 94. Maxine Phillips touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Millard Arthur Phillips and Betsy Evans Phillips; her husband Clifton Eugene Parnell; her daughter Ellen Parnell Cobb; her granddaughter Hollie Lynn Hood; and her siblings, Dorothy Cuddington, Ruth Pearson and J. T. Phillips.
She is survived by: her children, Thomas E. Parnell (Kathy) of Goldsboro, Glenda Phillips (Garry) of Zebulon and Phyllis Kirby (Jerry) of Goldsboro; her son-in-law John Cobb of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, Joy Hood, Jason Corbett, Daniel Kirby (Kaley), Dana Johnson (Johnny), Mary Ellen Hood (Brent), Tiffany Burnette (Todd) and Garred Phillips; and her great grandchildren, Jordan Allen (Margaret), Logan Lethco, Kinley Long, Carter Wood, Austin Mitchell, Eva Mae Hood, Caleb Johnson, Jackson Hood and Vaden Kirby.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Pleasant Grove Church (1100 Pikeville-Princeton Rd, Pikeville, NC 27863). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Wayne Memorial Park (2925 US-117, Dudley, NC 28333).
