He is survived by: his children, Martin Carl Thornton Jr. (Kendall) of Ayden, Diana Gordillo Mendez (Ugo) of Dudley and Rebecca Martinez (Luis) of Hookerton; his siblings, Charles Quinn of La Grange and Elaine Gaylon of Grifton; and his daughter Wilma Edwards (Wilbert) of Dudley. He is also survived by five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and the mother.
