She was predeceased by: her parents, Needham Martin Gainey and Hazel Best Gainey; her granddaughter Dawn Stoner; and her brothers, Curtis Gainey, Billy Gainey and Linwood Gainey.
She is survived by: her daughters, Bonnie Ham (Linwood) of Goldsboro, Wanda Fortner (Ronnie) of Pikeville, Patricia Hix (Walt) of Goldsboro and Pamela Pennell (Cecil) of Princeton; her grandchildren, David Fortner (April), Jennifer Smith (Ryan), Jeremy Pennell, Nancy Wiggins (Steven) and Nicole Evans (Jason); and her great grandchildren, Cole Stoner, Bentley Glisson, Braelynn Worley, Owen Smith, Gracelynn Evans, Adalynn Evans and Kinlynn Evans.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given in her memory to First Baptist Church, 207 Marlin Lane, Pikeville, NC 27863.
