He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Benjamin and Lessie Best Aswell. He is survived by: his wife Mary Aswell; his children, John Aswell (Jane) of Reidsville and Kristy Oates (Donny) of Chapel Hill; his granddaughters, Natalie and Lauren; his great grandchild Skylar; and his siblings, Jean Hollowell of Grantham, Bobby Aswell of Kentucky and Gary Aswell of Burgaw.
