She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph "Juice" Nelson Best and Hilda Grey Price Best; and her brother-in-law Leon "Hoss" Hoffman. She is survived by: her husband Ralph Edward Schroeder; her children, Heather Denise Schroeder (Michael Carraway), Patrick Nelson Schroeder (Shanda) and Robert "Bobby" Schroeder (Brittany); her siblings, Nelson Edward Best and Mary Ellen Hoffman; her grandchildren, Landon Schroeder, Britney Schroeder, Emalyn Schroeder and Katherine Schroeder; her sisters, Mary Brinson and June Johnson; and her pet Oreo.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home (2873 US-117, Dudley, NC 28333). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, March 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mount Olive Presbyterian Church (105 N Breazeale Ave, Mt Olive, NC 28365). A burial was held on Sunday, March 16th 2025 at the Maplewood Cemetery (400 E James St, Mt Olive, NC 28365).
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be directed to the Mount Olive Presbyterian Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 158, Mount Olive, NC 28365.
