It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carl Miller Saunders (Drexel, North Carolina), born in Newport, Virginia, who passed away on February 15, 2020, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Burton Saunders and Iva Shirley Duncan Saunders; his son Clarence Mark "Roscoe" Saunders; and his sister Carol Saunders Peery. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Jordan Saunders; his daughter Martha Saunders Capaldini (James); his grandchildren, Carrie, Crystal, Billy Saunders, Jesse, David and Braydon Capaldini; and his nephew Stewart Wayne Peery (Kim). He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
