He is survived by: his daughter Kristen Michelle Patterson (Daniel) of New Bern; his grandchildren, Adaline Marie Patterson of New Bern, Rachel Sue Lane of LaGrange and Riley Samuel Herring of LaGrange; and his siblings, Vivian Gail Ormond of Mt. Olive, Wendy Harrison (Rodney) of Lumberton and Phillip Londay Smith III (Peggy) of Dover. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
