He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Edward Hawkins and Junie Mae Hawkins; and his brothers, Thomas Lloyd Hawkins, Billy Lee Hawkins and Ronald Bruce Hawkins.
He is survived by: his daughters, Christy Douglass (Chris) and Tiffany Edwards; his grandchildren, Shane Modica (Candace), Regan Warden, Emma Jenkins, Maddie Douglass, Jackson Douglass and Dylan Edwards; and his siblings, Mary Hawkins Parker, Wanda Faye Mallard, Donald Hawkins, Douglas Hawkins (Hilda) and Durwood Hawkins. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Howard - Carter Funeral Home (1608 W Vernon Ave, Kinston, NC 28504). A graveside service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Hawkins Family Cemetery.
