It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thurmond Hayes (Dobson, North Carolina), born in Surry, Virginia, who passed away on December 1, 2018, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Joann Adams Hayes; and his brothers, Louie Hayes and Johnny Hayes. He is survived by: his children, Myra Hayes Caudle of Dobson, Michael Hayes, Sharon Hayes of Mt. Airy and Mickey Hayes of Mt. Airy; his grandchildren, Chris, Jessica Hayes, Candra Chriscoe, Hannah, Brett Stanley, Haley, Elliot Smith, Hunter Hayes, Matthew, Whitney Hayes, Courtney Hayes and Garrett Caudle; his great grandchildren, Sadie Hayes, Camden Hayes, Hayden Chriscoe, Harper Chriscoe, Jack Stanley, Jude Stanley, Eleanor Smith, Christian Hayes, Ashton Hayes and Parker Hayes; his sisters, Gail Holland of Kernersville and Maureen Gates of Dobson; and his sister-in-law Ronald.
