She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Martin Bowen; and her children, Cheryl Lynn Tate and David Lee Bowen. She is survived by: her children, Connie (Kevin Bowe), Wanda (David Conrad) and Jeff Bowen; her close friend Donna Phillips; her son-in-law Jay Tate; her sisters-in-law, Richard Caudill, Patty Caudill, Bob Caudill and Cheryl Caudill; her sister Faye Shew; and her brother-in-law J. D. Shew. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren and fifty-four great grandchildren.
